Role Overview
As an Experienced Electronics Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing and developing innovative electronic solutions. Your role will encompass a diverse array of projects, from initial concept through to production, ensuring that every design meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, with our team of 23 multi-disciplinary design engineers, where adaptability is key. Whether you're working on cutting-edge embedded systems, firmware solutions, or full-scale manufacturing projects, your expertise will be crucial in driving our mission forward. Your ability to seamlessly transition between different projects and challenges will be essential in delivering exceptional results and pushing the boundaries of technology.
The role is fast-paced with the opportunity to make a real impact on the design, seeing your work come to life, with direct and early responsibility and communication with the client. Your contribution will help GBE continue its rapid growth!
Owing to the nature of collaboration, the work is primarily in-person. There is some opportunity to work from home, but this will be no more than 1 day in 5.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits, devices, and systems.
- Create and review design specifications and technical documentation.
- Conduct simulations and testing to validate designs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Select appropriate materials and components for designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design issues and technical challenges.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Work on multiple sites as required to support project needs and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics design and development.
- Evidence of working on successful embedded product development, with examples of your contribution to the success of the projects, is essential.
- Proficiency in using design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of digital and analogue circuit design.
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Preparing and checking design documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Desire to thrive in a technology-focused environment.

- Circuit Design and Analysis: Proficiency in designing and analysing both digital and analogue circuits.
- Embedded Systems and Programming: Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller programming, with familiarity in languages like C, C++, and Python.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues, and ability to troubleshoot and debug electronic systems.
- Understanding Industry Standards and Compliance: Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring designs comply with safety and quality standards.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical details clearly and effectively.
- Project Management: Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring, and coordinating with different teams to ensure project success.
- Research and Development: Capability to conduct research, stay updated with technological advancements, and innovate technologies and products.
- Technical Documentation: Proficiency in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, ensuring accurate records of design processes and test results.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure high-quality designs and ability to spot and correct errors in designs and documentation.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Providing guidance and support to junior engineers and team members, leading projects, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Salary Range
Competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Yearly bonus scheme.
