Senior Hardware Engineer Alstom – Mansfield, NG17 1JF (Onsite) | Permanent | c.£45K + Comprehensive Benefits

About the Role
This is your opportunity to take on a demanding yet rewarding position in Hardware Engineering, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. You’ll:
- Deliver timely, high-quality hardware designs for complex electronic systems across diverse projects.
- Work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and external clients to meet cost, efficiency, quality, and safety targets.
- Elevate standards via best-practice design methods, Continuous Improvement (CI) tools, and innovative solutions.
- Ensure 100% alignment with UK Health & Safety regulations and Alstom’s Electronics quality benchmarks.
- Consistently meet KPIs for Right First Time (RFT), efficiency, cost, and service excellence.
Core Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Compliance
- Support hardware engineering for a variety of electronics systems, validating designs against specifications and quality standards.
- Champion Right First Time (RFT) adherence and monitor performance metrics rigorously.

Collaborative Solutions
- Lead or assist cross-functional investigations into hardware challenges, delivering fixes efficiently.
- Liaise with production teams, project managers, and external customers to align objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Present technical news, findings, and recommendations at meetings and forums.

- Recommend design and process improvements to boost product reliability, performance, and longevity.
- Drive adoption of Continuous Improvement (CI) frameworks to instil best practices.

- Oversee new hardware designs from conceptualisation through full deployment, ensuring seamless integration.
- Stage-gate compliance across all regulatory and company-wide standards.

- Mastery of electronics design (analogue & digital) with hands-on experience in a relevant industry.
