Hardware Engineer

In a nutshell

As a Hardware Engineer (Customer Devices), you'll be part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, remotely managing and continuously improving customer-facing hardware solutions across our stores.

These devices play a direct role in how customers experience our brand, so we're looking for someone who understands the importance of reliable, well-managed technology in a retail environment. You'll work across the full device lifecycle, partnering with multiple teams and third parties to deliver scalable, secure and reliable customer technology solutions.

You'll be someone who enjoys solving complex problems, embracing new technology and continuously improving how services are delivered within a fast-paced retail environment.

What I Am Accountable For

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of customer-facing hardware solutions.
  • Evaluate, test and deploy new customer device technologies.
  • Lead store pilots and rollout activities for new hardware solutions.
  • Design and maintain device management and support frameworks.
  • Manage and support devices remotely at scale using MDM tooling.
  • Drive device availability, security and configuration consistency.
  • Support continuous improvement of hardware services and operational processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers.
  • Contribute to effective management of OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Support device decommissioning and end-of-life processes.
  • Champion customer-focused engineering and service delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
