Foundation Sports Coach

The Harlequins Foundation is looking for a Foundation Sports Coach to join our delivery team on a freelance basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic coach to deliver high-quality sports sessions across primary and secondary schools in South-west London, supporting young people to develop confidence, essential skills and a positive relationship with sport.

Role details:

Job title: Foundation Sports Coach
Rate: £20 per hour
Contract: Freelance, temporary
Location: In person, across South-west London
Boroughs: Hounslow, Kingston, Richmond, Croydon, Merton and Wandsworth
Hours: Part-time and flexible, with regular sessions available
Reports to: Regional Development Manager

The role will support the delivery and development of our schools-based programmes, including Move. Learn. Grow., Project Rugby, METTLE, SWITCH.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Help deliver engaging sports coaching sessions across schools and community settings, working with young people from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 5.
  • Support the development of positive relationships with schools, grassroots clubs and local communities, helping young people transition into long-term participation in sport.
  • Support holiday provision.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Help us capture the impact of our work across our communities.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A NGB Level 2 Coaching Qualification in any sport is required, however if you don’t have one we can support working towards getting one.
  • Previous sports coaching experience is preferred.
  • A driving licence would be beneficial.
