About Us
The Hartley Arms is part of Honesty Group – a people-first, community-led food business. We’re known for warm hospitality, great food made by hand, and spaces where locals, families, and guests feel genuinely welcome. Our restaurant and private function room host everything from relaxed lunches to special events and celebrations.
The Role
We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Front of House Assistant to support service in our restaurant and private function room. You’ll play a key part in creating great guest experiences day to day, as well as helping deliver smooth, memorable events and private bookings. This is a hands-on, varied role – no two shifts are the same.

Working Hours: This is a 30 HR contract.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver warm, attentive service in the restaurant and at private events
- Set up, run, and reset the function room for bookings and functions
- Prepare drinks and support food service in line with food safety standards
- Answer phone enquiries and support reservations and bookings
- Take in deliveries, rotate stock, and complete temperature checks
- Keep front-of-house areas clean, tidy, and welcoming
- Support end-of-day tasks including cleaning, waste logs, cashing up, and lock up
What We’re Looking For
- A friendly, customer-focused approach and great communication skills
- Comfortable in a busy, varied front-of-house environment
- Happy supporting both everyday service and private functions/events
- Reliable, organized, and a good team player
- Previous hospitality experience helpful but not essential – full training provided
