Hatchery Operative – Poultry
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (Outskirts)
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:30, 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Transport: Own transport required due to rural location and early start
Visa/Sponsorship: No Visa or Sponsorship offered with this position.
About The Role
ISQ Recruitment are supporting an established poultry business with the recruitment of Hatchery Operatives to join their team on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.
This is a practical, hands-on role working within a busy poultry hatchery, helping with the handling and care of eggs and chicks while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity.

No previous hatchery or poultry experience is required, as full training will be provided.
The Role Will Involve
- Handling eggs and chicks safely and carefully
- Supporting daily hatchery operations
- Cleaning and disinfecting work areas and equipment
- Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity
- Completing basic records and following site procedures
- Working as part of the hatchery team
The Ideal Candidate
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable with practical, hands-on work
- Happy working around poultry
- Able to work well as part of a team
- Willing to learn and follow procedures
