Background

Hyundai Capital UK Ltd is a joint venture established in 2012 by Santander Consumer UK and Hyundai Capital Services Korea. It operates under the Hyundai Finance, Kia Finance, and Genesis Finance brands, providing funding solutions to both retailers and consumers.

Job Purpose

The Pricing Analyst reports to the Head of Pricing and supports the development, implementation, and review of pricing policies, models, and processes. Key functions include maintaining and updating pricing models, supporting contract hire pricing, analysing data to inform pricing decisions, improving reporting, providing input on portfolio performance and contributing to wider business activities as needed.

Key Accountabilities

Price Modelling

  • Manage and maintain dynamic pricing models.
  • Validate and update key assumptions.
  • Support the Head of Pricing in building pricing proposals.

Price Analysis

  • Provide timely and accurate pricing information, ensuring profitable products and tactical initiatives are created, reviewed and maintained effectively.
  • Understand how data inputs influence pricing.
  • Analyse and monitor product performance and escalate potential issues affecting future losses.

Technical Advice

  • Stay informed on external factors influencing pricing such as economic conditions, automotive market trends, and regulations.
  • Understand and explain pricing methodologies for products including loan, lease, and wholesale products, including tax considerations.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the impact of pricing methodology changes on business profitability.

Reporting

  • Maintain and enhance management information (MI) reporting suites and dashboards.
  • Identify and explain key monthly report movements to line management, demonstrating accuracy, insight and understanding the financial data being reported.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, manufacturer partners, joint venture partners, data providers, outsourced operational teams, and third-party suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Sales, and other departments to support effective pricing activity and decisions.

Risk and Compliance

  • Identify risks, incidents, and breaches in line with company policies and procedures.

Responsible Use of AI

  • Confidently use approved AI tools to support role objectives.
  • Ensure AI outputs are accurate, explainable, and compliant with company policies and data protection.
  • Develop AI competency and identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency through AI.

Key Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex tasks into component parts and consider each part in detail. Able to grasp ideas quickly.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues, assess available information and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
  • Recognising Patterns: Linking concepts and data for deeper insight into factors influencing pricing.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication, and able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative working relationships.
  • Time Management: Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload independently and across multiple projects.

Key Expertise

  • Relevant pricing, risk, or financial analysis experience in financial services, preferably automotive or asset finance.
  • Strong data analysis and manipulation skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
  • Experience with MI/reporting and technical knowledge.
  • Broad understanding of financial services operations, automotive market dynamics, and residual value data management.
  • Knowledge of financial services regulatory and compliance policies.
  • Demonstrable finance experience or degree-level education in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.

  • Part-qualified or studying towards accountancy qualifications (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, AAT)
  • Knowledge of SAS.

Other Information

The role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of two days per week at the Reigate, Surrey head office.

Remuneration Package

  • Starting salary range: approximately £33,750 to £40,000, dependent on experience / expertise.
  • Eligibility for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
  • 27 days annual leave plus public / bank holidays, with a flexible holiday scheme.
  • Additional one day of annual leave after five years of continuous service.
