Head Assistant Professional — Alresford Golf Club
An exciting opportunity for an ambitious PGA professional to progress their career at one of Hampshire's most respected members' clubs.
Reporting to the Head Professional, the Head Assistant Professional will be a key member of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of golf at Alresford. The role spans operations, retail, custom fitting, coaching, and member engagement — offering genuine variety, from coaching and club fitting to club repairs and leading from the shop floor.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a member-facing environment: bringing energy, personality, and professionalism to every interaction, and taking real pride in the quality of their work and the relationships they build.
About Alresford Golf Club
Founded in 1890, Alresford is a classic chalk downland course on the edge of the South Downs, playable all year round thanks to its free-draining terrain. One of Hampshire's oldest clubs, it's cherished by members for how little has changed across its 135-year history — a traditional course paired with a friendly, modern clubhouse and excellent catering.
This is a members' club, run by members for members. A dedicated team of professionals looks after administration and catering, while our greenkeeping staff maintain and develop the course to the standards our members expect.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
