Job Title
This stunning four-star hotel is centrally located within Hull, on Ferensway, minutes from the train station and St Stephens Shopping Centre. The hotel is opposite the Hull Truck Theatre and is a short stroll to the bustling downtown and marina area. This contemporary-style hotel offers a stylish stay for corporate guests and also accommodates leisure guests and family stays with its spacious and relaxing environment.
The hotel boasts 165 bedrooms and a 1,000sqm ballroom for events and conferences. There is a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill offering hearty meals and a pleasurable atmosphere. Guests will enjoy relaxing with food and drinks in our lounge bar or may choose to visit our rooftop bar The Lexington for panoramic views of Hull and a handmade cocktail on the terrace.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency and service across every guest experience.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day kitchen operation, developing a high-performing team and delivering strong commercial and operational results.

The Opportunity
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring food is prepared and presented to the highest standards while maintaining an efficient, safe and commercially successful environment.
You'll lead and develop your team, oversee menu delivery and stock management, and ensure compliance with all food safety and operational requirements.
Working closely with hotel leaders and operational teams, you'll play a key role in creating memorable dining experiences that keep guests returning time and time again.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and food service areas
- Recruit, train, coach and develop kitchen team members
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation and consistency across all services
- Manage stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
- Monitor food and labour costs to support financial performance
- Maintain compliance with food safety, health and safety and company standards
- Support menu planning, seasonal changes and food innovation
- Ensure effective kitchen rota planning and resource management
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences
- Create a positive, professional and high-performing kitchen culture

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a hospitality environment
- Strong culinary skills and passion for food quality
- Experience leading and developing kitchen teams
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of kitchen financial performance
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, proactive and hands-on leadership style
