We are looking for a Head Chef for The Botanist - Albert Dock, Liverpool
Great food has the power to bring people together. It's the centrepiece of celebrations, the reason friends stay for another round and often the memory guests take home with them long after they've left. We're looking for a Head Chef who understands that.
At The Botanist, you'll lead a talented kitchen team in delivering fresh, vibrant food that helps create memorable guest experiences every single day. You'll combine creativity, leadership and consistency to ensure every dish reflects the quality, care and hospitality we're known for.
This role is about more than running a kitchen. It's about creating an environment where people can do their best work, where standards are high, development is encouraged and the energy of the team can be felt in every service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
