At Bupa, we're passionate about delivering high-quality dining experiences that support the health and wellbeing of our residents. We're looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Bridles, our brand-new, state-of-the-art care home in Wincanton.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Senior Sous Chef looking for a leadership role with more predictable and sociable working hours than many hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environments.
About the Role
As Head Chef, you'll be responsible for leading the kitchen team, creating nutritious and appealing menus, maintaining excellent food safety standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for our residents.

Working Pattern
We know work-life balance is important.
This role offers a more structured working pattern than many traditional hospitality kitchens, with shifts typically worked across a rota including weekends.
Example shift patterns may include:
- Early shifts
- Mid shifts
- Alternate weekend working (if applicable)

Who We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from experienced chefs from a variety of backgrounds.
Care home experience is not essential, applications are welcome from:
- Head Chefs
- Chef Managers
- Kitchen Managers
- Sous Chefs ready for their next step
- Chefs from restaurants, hotels, contract catering, education, healthcare, and other volume catering environments
You'll need:
- Strong people leadership skills
- Experience managing kitchen operations and budgets
- Food safety knowledge and compliance experience
- Passion for delivering excellent food and customer service
