Description
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at Sanremo Italian Restaurant. You’ll take full ownership of the kitchen, delivering consistently excellent Italian food while maintaining high standards of service, hygiene and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop menus, seasonal specials and dishes that reflect our Italian identity.
- Lead, motivate and train the kitchen team, ensuring everyone is fully briefed and prepared for service.
- Oversee food preparation, presentation and service to maintain consistently high standards.
- Manage stock, ordering, deliveries, rotation and storage across all kitchen areas.
- Monitor food costs, portion control and waste to protect quality and profitability.
- Ensure stations are properly prepared, stocked and ready before every service.
- Coordinate closely with front-of-house and management to deliver a smooth guest experience.
- Maintain excellent food-safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards, including accurate date labelling.
- Manage dietary requirements and allergens safely and confidently.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is used correctly and promptly report maintenance or safety issues.
- Support the team wherever required during busy services.

What We’re Looking For

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or an accomplished Sous Chef ready to step up.
- Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Italian cuisine and high-volume kitchen operations.
- Sound understanding of food safety, allergens, stock control and kitchen costs.
- A calm, hands-on approach and the ability to maintain standards under pressure.
- Genuine passion for quality ingredients, hospitality and developing a successful team.

- Salary: £45,000–£60,000 per year
