We are seeking an exceptional Head Chef to join a prestigious luxury hotel, spa, and golf resort in Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, hands-on kitchen leader to play a key role in delivering outstanding culinary experiences across multiple food outlets.
Working closely with the Executive Chef, you will lead the kitchen brigade, drive operational excellence, and uphold the highest standards of quality, consistency, and service.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
- Lead the daily kitchen operation across multiple food outlets
- Support the Executive Chef in menu planning and service execution
- Ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and Food & Beverage teams
- Take full responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
- Drive continuous improvement and culinary innovation
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & TRAINING
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen brigade
- Manage rotas, payroll, and holiday planning
- Handle staff queries and people-related matters
- Conduct annual appraisals and performance reviews
- Oversee departmental inductions and onboarding
- Deliver and manage ongoing training and development programmes
- Work closely with the Training & Quality Assurance Manager to identify training needs
FINANCIAL & COMMERCIAL CONTROL
- Maintain tight control of food costs, GP, and kitchen budgets
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships
- Implement and monitor operational standards and procedures
- Minimise waste and drive cost efficiency across the kitchen

FOOD & SERVICE EXCELLENCE
- Ensure exceptional standards across restaurants, banqueting, room service, and colleague dining
- Oversee colleague dining to ensure food is nutritious, balanced, and varied
- Be actively involved in service and production as business demands
- Consistently strive to exceed guest expectations
HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Adhere to all legal requirements, regulations, and company policies
IDEAL HEAD CHEF:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a 5-star or luxury hospitality environment
- Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
- Commercially focused with proven cost-control experience
- Ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing kitchen teams
- Confident decision-maker with a hands-on leadership approach
- Excellent understanding of luxury kitchen operations and service standards
