Kings Cross, London
Salary: A GBP 45,000 : A GBP 50,000 (+ tronc, approx A GBP 2,000:A GBP 3,000)
A rare opportunity for a Head Chef to take the lead in a quality, fresh-food kitchen in Kings Cross, with a Monday to Friday daytime operation.
This is a role built around great food, great people, and a strong work-life balance.
The kitchen has a busy breakfast and lunch trade, with occasional events and private functions adding variety. You'll be leading from the front in an open kitchen, working with fresh ingredients and a menu that puts quality and simplicity at the centre.
And the best part?
You'll be finished in the afternoon.
The Role
As Head Chef, you'll take ownership of the kitchen and its day-to-day operation.
You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading a small, fresh-food kitchen
- Delivering a high-quality breakfast and lunch service
- Maintaining strong food standards and consistency
- Working closely with the wider management team
- Managing ordering, GP, stock, and kitchen controls
- Developing and refining the menu with support from the Executive Chef
- Leading occasional events and functions
- Training and developing the kitchen team
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards
- Creating a positive kitchen culture where people enjoy coming to work

The kitchen operates Monday to Friday, with service finishing at around 4 pm.

Who Are We Looking For?
We're looking for a chef who genuinely enjoys fresh food and a hands-on kitchen.
You'll Ideally Be
- An experienced Head Chef from a smaller, fresh-food operation
- Confident running a kitchen independently
- Strong across breakfast and lunch service
- Comfortable working in an open kitchen environment
- Passionate about fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch
- Commercially aware and confident managing kitchen costs
- A natural leader who enjoys developing people
- Organised, hands-on, and calm under pressure
We're also very open to hearing from experienced Sous Chefs who are ready to take their first Head Chef position.
