- Develop and deliver innovative, seasonal menus, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and responding to evolving food trends.
- Manage a diverse and dynamic workload, confidently adapting to periods of high-volume hospitality alongside quieter service times.
- Lead, train, and inspire a team of chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive, supportive, and high-performing team environment.
- Effectively plan staffing and resources to meet the demands of a fluctuating business model.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Manage kitchen budgets, food costs, and stock control to maximise profitability.
- Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver a seamless and high-quality hospitality experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
