About The Role

We are looking for a passionate, creative and hands-on Head Chef to join our exciting and growing food brand.

This is a great opportunity for a chef who loves fresh cooking and creating dishes from scratch. This role allows for freedom to put your mark on the menu and run the kitchen operation.

The Sidings is a brunch-style café, focusing on cook-to-order, seasonal and beautifully presented food. Quality is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for someone who shares that philosophy.

The Head Chef role involves running the kitchen day-to-day whilst being supported by the Sidings Manager and Executive Head Chef. The hours are predominantly daytime hours starting at 8 am and finishing at 4 pm, this is perfect for anyone looking to move away from the traditional late-night restaurant lifestyle. There will be some occasional evening work for special events. Weekend availability is essential.

As a Head Chef, You Will

  • Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality dishes and seasonal menus.
  • Manage food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor food costs, waste and profitability.
  • Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, allergen and health and safety legislation.
  • Maintain exceptional food presentation and service standards.
  • Support recruitment, training and development of kitchen staff.
  • Contribute ideas for menu innovation and business growth.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Be part of the team, hands-on and running service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
