HEAD CHEF – SANREMO ITALIAN RESTAURANT, BATH
£45,000–£60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Full-time | Permanent.
Sanremo is an independent Italian restaurant in the heart of Bath, set within an elegant former bank on the historic High Street. Our kitchen celebrates authentic Italian cooking with a modern touch—from handmade pasta and fired pizza to fresh seafood and our signature oyster bar. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and highly organised Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take ownership of day-to-day kitchen operations. This is a hands-on senior role for a confident leader who can deliver consistently excellent food, develop a strong team and run a commercially successful kitchen.
THE ROLE
- Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team, creating a positive, professional working culture
- Take full responsibility for preparation, service and the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Maintain consistently high standards of flavour, presentation and portion control
- Protect and develop Sanremo’s modern Italian food identity
- Create seasonal dishes, specials and menus in collaboration with management
- Manage rotas, staffing levels and team briefings effectively
- Oversee stock, ordering, deliveries, storage and rotation
- Control food costs, waste and kitchen profitability
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, HACCP, allergen and Health & Safety standards
- Ensure every kitchen area, including refrigeration and dry stores, is clean, organised and compliant
- Train and support chefs at every level
- Work closely with the front-of-house and management teams to deliver a seamless guest experience

ABOUT YOU
You will be an experienced Head Chef, or an accomplished Sous Chef ready to step up, with a strong background in a busy, fresh-food kitchen. Experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable.
