About Brookdale View Care Home

Brookdale View Care Home is a welcoming 48 bed care home in Newton Heath, Manchester, offering residential and nursing care. With a friendly, family focused atmosphere and a dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with residents and make a genuine difference to their everyday lives. The home is also conveniently located close to Manchester city centre, with good public transport links.

Head Chef Contract

  • Hourly Rate: £16.20 - £16.80
  • Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Benefits:

Role Overview

As Head Chef, you will take full ownership of the kitchen, leading from the front to deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are central to daily life. This is a role where your leadership and standards will shape the entire dining experience, creating meals that residents look forward to every day.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Drive all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu planning and food preparation to stock control, compliance, and team performance.
    • Ensure meals are tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining high standards of presentation, nutrition, and food safety.
    • Manage stock, ordering, and budgets effectively, minimizing waste while ensuring quality is never compromised.
    • Lead and develop your team, building a well-organized, motivated, and high-performing kitchen.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications and Experience:
    • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
    • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
    • Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety.
    • Proactive, reliable, and quality-focused approach.
    • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in professional cookery.
