About the Role
Based at our flagship cinema in Piccadilly Circus, you'll lead the kitchen across multiple outlets, including the restaurant, bar, café, and a diverse range of events. Working closely with the General Manager and Commercial Team, you'll shape menus, inspire your team, and play a key role in creating the exceptional experiences that keep guests coming back.
What You Get

- Working schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shifts: You will never do a split shift! The kitchen team generally works 09:00-17:00 and 14:00-22:00 shifts. As the Head Chef, there may be a requirement for certain flexibility around this, however work-life balance is a big focus for us.
- Free tickets for you and your friends/family + in-cinema discounts, with your own Premiere Pass card!
- Picturehouse offers a wide variety of benefits; early pay access, all employees are entitled to 28 days holiday per year (pro rata), Virtual GP, savings on restaurants, gyms, and high street brands, cash back healthcare plan, eye care scheme, and loads more!
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee all kitchen operations, designing and delivering menus for the restaurant, bar, café, and on-site events.
- Working closely with the Commercial Team in our Support Office, remain hands-on in the kitchen and support the team during service.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team, maintaining high standards of food hygiene, preparation, presentation, and service to provide our customers with extraordinary experiences.
- Manage the commercial side of the kitchen, including rotas, ordering, supplier relationships, and margin performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
- You’re looking for a role with creative freedom to build menus and run your kitchen while having a good work-life balance with no split shifts or very late finishes.
- You no longer want to be in the hectic lifestyle of a typical Head Chef role and would appreciate a work-life balance with no long-split shifts while keeping the creative freedom to build menus and run your kitchen.
- You have strong proven experience managing a small but passionate kitchen team, empowering them to deliver unforgettable food experiences while collaborating with other key business stakeholders.
- You have demonstrable experience of building and delivering menus for multi-outlet venues, small or large.
- You are comfortable with the general running of a kitchen, building rotas, ordering, and raising POs with our suppliers, upholding food safety standards, managing budgets, and the kitchen's financial operating margin.
- Experience with large-scale catering events and menu development would be desirable.
- You will be a great fit if our values resonate with you: We Create, We Perform, We Inspire.
