Head Coach Wanted

We are looking for a head coach with the skills and enthusiasm to lead a successful coaching programme for all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will deliver a programme in line with the club’s objectives, and have a positive impact on the wider membership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver group and individual coaching sessions to juniors and adults.
  • Manage the coaching team to deliver a structured coaching programme in line with the club’s objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with the club committee.
  • Assist with club events, such as competitions, holiday camps and promotional activities.
  • Co-ordinate junior league fixtures, matchplay sessions and tournaments.
  • Encourage player retention through excellent customer service and communication.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, safeguarding and professionalism.

Essential Requirements:

  • Obtained or working towards LTA Level 3 coaching qualification.
  • LTA Accreditation.
  • Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Up-to-date safeguarding and first aid qualifications.
  • Passion for developing players and growing participation in tennis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, organised and professional approach to coaching.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience coaching players across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Experience delivering school, holiday camp or community programmes.
  • Ability to develop and manage performance players.
  • Experience using coaching management and booking systems.

About the Venue:

Downend and Frenchay Tennis Club is a friendly and welcoming club consisting of over 250 members, and 4 floodlit, all-weather hard courts. The role would offer the successful candidate control of an established coaching programme, and work with the club to mould it into a positive and successful force in the local community.

Person Specification:

We are looking for someone not only to deliver a successful coaching program from an operational perspective, but to also take pride in becoming a friendly and respected member of the club infrastructure. The ideal candidate will make themselves known throughout the club, aim to create a clear pathway for members to develop, and integrate our junior and adult membership.
