Smilemakers Cosmetic Dental Practice & Referral Centre

Southampton

Permanent | Full-Time

Ready to lead, inspire and make a real difference?

At Smilemakers Cosmetic Dental Practice & Referral Centre, we believe exceptional patient care starts with an exceptional team. We're looking for an experienced, motivated and passionate Head Dental Nurse to lead our nursing team and help drive clinical excellence across our modern 11-surgery private practice and referral centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Dental Nurse who is ready to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Practice Management Team and clinicians, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the practice, maintaining the highest clinical standards and creating an environment where both patients and colleagues thrive.

As a busy referral centre offering general dentistry, implants, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, facial aesthetics, endodontics and hygiene, no two days are the same. You'll lead by example, supporting the clinical team while continuing to provide outstanding patient care.

The Role

As Head Dental Nurse, you'll be responsible for leading and supporting our nursing team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the clinical environment and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and compliance.

Working closely with our clinicians, practice management team and compliance lead, you'll help create a positive, collaborative culture while ensuring the practice operates efficiently and safely. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll remain clinically involved, when required and acting as a role model for the wider team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys developing others, improving processes and creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated and able to perform at their best.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position working 33 hours per week over four days, working Tuesday - Friday (33 hours per week). Friday availability is essential and forms a key part of this role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
