Role Description

The Head Editor role at Alayd Agency is a full-time, remote position responsible for overseeing all editorial output across client accounts and internal brand content. Day-to-day, the Head Editor reviews and edits video scripts, social media copy, campaign messaging, and long-form content to ensure clarity, consistency, and brand alignment. This role sets and enforces editorial standards, manages content calendars, and collaborates closely with strategists, creators, and designers to refine ideas and optimize content for digital platforms. The Head Editor provides constructive feedback to writers and content creators, mentors junior team members, and helps shape storytelling approaches that drive engagement and conversions. In addition, the role involves coordinating with account managers to meet deadlines, maintaining quality across multiple projects, and supporting creative direction for new campaigns and formats.

  • Strong editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to refine copy, scripts, and campaign messaging for clarity, tone, and impact.
  • Experience leading editorial processes, including setting style guidelines, managing content workflows, and overseeing quality control.
  • Proficiency in social media and digital content, particularly for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and other short-form video or social channels.
  • Background in content strategy and storytelling, with the ability to align content with brand positioning and marketing objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give clear, constructive feedback to creative teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising writers, editors, or content creators, ideally within an agency or digital-first setting.
  • Familiarity with performance metrics and data-driven content optimization (e.g., engagement, watch time, click-through, conversions).
  • Comfort working with diverse brands and industries, adapting editorial voice and style to different audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
