Rugby Golf Club - Rugby - Central England

Managerial - Greenkeeper

26 September 2026

Our Mission

At Rugby Golf Club, we’re proud of our rich heritage and our reputation for providing a course that challenges and delights golfers of all abilities. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to maintain and continually enhance a course that is as beautiful to walk as it is rewarding to play. We believe in sustainable course management, respect for the environment, and fostering a welcoming community for members and visitors alike.

The Impact You'll Make

As our Head Greenkeeper, you will be the guardian of our course’s playability, beauty, and long-term health. Your expertise will shape the golfer’s experience from the first tee to the final putt. You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensuring every fairway, green, and bunker is prepared to the highest standard, while also planning for the future - introducing innovations in turf care, sustainability, and course presentation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and inspire the greenkeeping team, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and to the highest professional standards.
  • Plan and oversee all course maintenance, including mowing regimes, aeration, topdressing, irrigation, and pest/disease control.
  • Prepare the course for play each day, including marking hazards, setting tee markers, and maintaining bunkers and golf furniture.
  • Develop and implement a seasonal and long-term course management plan, balancing playability with environmental stewardship.
  • Manage and maintain all machinery and equipment, ensuring safe operation and timely servicing.
  • Monitor turf health and soil conditions, making data-driven decisions to optimise performance.
  • Work closely with the Club Operations Manager and Course Director and Greens Committee to align course presentation with club goals and member expectations.
  • Manage budgets for materials, equipment, and staffing, ensuring cost-effective operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
