Role: Head Gymnastics Coach

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head Gymnastics Coach to lead our gymnastics programme across the Arun contract. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise and a passion for developing gymnasts of all abilities. This exciting role combines proactive coaching with responsibility for overseeing the coordination, administration and continued growth of the gymnastics programme, while leading and supporting a team of gymnastics coaches.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise and mentor a team of gymnastics coaches
  • Plan, deliver and oversee engaging gymnastics sessions for recreational and competitive participants
  • Create safe, progressive and enjoyable learning environments
  • Monitor gymnast development and provide ongoing feedback
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety policies and risk assessments
  • Manage programme administration
  • Coordinate competitions, events, gymnastics activities as well as other junior activities
  • Recruit, train and support coaching staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and support coach development
  • Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to programme growth
  • Build positive relationships with gymnasts, parents, colleagues and stakeholders

You'll play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive and positive environment where gymnasts can thrive and progress. If you have the qualifications, experience and passion to inspire both participants and fellow coaches to achieve their full potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Sunday (rota basis)

Qualifications and experience:

  • Level 3 Gymnastics Coaching Qualification
  • Experience coaching recreational and competitive gymnasts
  • Experience managing staff or leading coaching teams
  • Knowledge of gymnastics programme delivery
  • Experience working in a leisure, sports or recreation environment
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Valid First Aid qualification
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
