Head Housekeeper
We’re looking for a Head Housekeeper to join the team at The King’s Arms in Dorchester.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced housekeeping supervisor who takes real pride in their work and knows that the little details make a big difference. You’ll lead our housekeeping operation, ensuring every bedroom and guest area is beautifully presented and every guest receives the high standards we’re known for.
What you'll be doing
As Head Housekeeper, you’ll be responsible for keeping the hotel looking its absolute best while leading and supporting the housekeeping team:
- Leading, motivating and supporting the housekeeping team day to day.
- Organising daily room cleans and allocating work efficiently according to arrivals, departures and occupancy.
- Carrying out regular room and public-area inspections to ensure consistently high standards.
- Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors and guest areas are clean, fresh and beautifully presented.
- Maintaining housekeeping standards, procedures and checklists.
- Training and coaching new and existing team members.
- Managing linen, towels, cleaning products and housekeeping stock.
- Monitoring stock levels and placing orders when required.
- Reporting maintenance issues, damage and other concerns promptly to the relevant team.
- Working closely with the Reception and Management teams to ensure rooms are ready on time.
- Ensuring health, safety and hygiene standards are followed.
- Helping create a positive, hardworking and friendly housekeeping culture.
- Rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in when the hotel is busy.
