The Opportunity
We’re looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Head Kitchen Porter to lead and support our Kitchen Porter team at Hiddenwell.
This is an important role at the heart of our kitchen operation. You’ll take responsibility for organising the Kitchen Porter team, maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and making sure our chefs have the clean, safe and well-organised environment they need to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.
You’ll be someone who leads from the front – happy to roll up your sleeves, work alongside your team and set the standard for others to follow.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, organise and support the Kitchen Porter team during each shift
- Allocating daily duties and ensuring workloads are managed effectively
- Working alongside the team during busy periods and leading by example
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the kitchen
- Ensuring pots, pans, utensils, crockery and kitchen equipment are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently
- Keeping pot wash and Kitchen Porter areas clean, tidy and organised.
- Ensuring kitchen floors, bins and waste areas are cleaned and maintained to the required standard
- Making sure cleaning schedules are followed and completed correctly
- Monitoring standards throughout each shift and address any issues promptly
- Supporting the induction and training of new Kitchen Porters
- Providing practical guidance, coaching and support to the team
- Ensuring cleaning chemicals are used and stored correctly in line with COSHH requirements
- Ensuring appropriate PPE is used for relevant duties
- Supporting safe and effective waste management
- Reporting hazards, faulty equipment, accidents or food safety concerns promptly
- Communicating staffing or operational concerns to the senior kitchen team
- Working closely with our chefs and wider Food & Beverage team to support a smooth kitchen operation

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in high standards and enjoys being part of a busy kitchen team.
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or within a busy kitchen environment
- Supervisory, Team Leader or senior Kitchen Porter experience would be an advantage
- Confidence organising, supporting and motivating a team
- A good understanding of kitchen hygiene and safe working practices
- Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety requirements
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- The ability to prioritise effectively during busy periods
- A reliable and hardworking approach
- Confidence working independently and using your initiative
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, flexible and hands-on attitude

Additional Information
- 37.5 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
- Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
- Salary: £12.71 per hour
- Shift Pattern: 8:00am-4:00pm 3:00pm-12:00am 10:00am-6:30pm
- Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)
