Rugby Arrows Basketball Club is a community-focused basketball organization based in Rugby, dedicated to developing players through structured coaching and competitive play. Volunteers and coaches play a central role in shaping the club’s culture, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and respect. The Head Men’s Basketball Coach will contribute to the club’s mission by leading the men’s team and supporting long-term player development.
Role Description
The Head Men’s Basketball Coach is a volunteer, on-site role located in Rugby, responsible for leading the men’s team in all basketball-related activities. Tasks include:

- Planning and conducting training sessions
- Developing game strategies
- Teaching fundamental and advanced basketball skills
- Managing player rotations during practices and games

The coach will provide constructive feedback, foster a safe and inclusive team environment, and communicate effectively with players, assistants, and club leadership. Additional responsibilities may include:
- Coordinating with the club on scheduling
- Attending meetings
- Supporting recruitment and retention of players
Qualifications
- Basketball Coaching Qualification NECESSARY
- Strong basketball coaching abilities, including Basketball Coaching and general Coaching skills.
- Solid knowledge of Basketball fundamentals, game tactics, and rules.
- Effective Communication skills for working with players, assistants, and club representatives.
- Experience designing and delivering Training programs focused on skill development and fitness.
- Prior experience coaching or playing at club, school, or higher levels is highly beneficial.
- Ability to lead by example, demonstrate professionalism, and promote an inclusive team culture.
- Availability to attend regular practices, games, and occasional club events on-site in Rugby (away games all in Warwickshire)
