Competitive renumeration with excellent benefits
This is more than an Unreal Engine leadership role, it’s an opportunity to shape how a major global engineering and design consultancy approaches 3D visualisation, real-time development and immersive technology for the future.
An established Creative Design function is bringing together two complementary disciplines: a highly accomplished 3D visualisation capability and an experienced real-time development team and Unreal Engine is the bridge between them.
We’re looking for the technical leader who can bring those worlds together, someone to lead a multidisciplinary team of around 12 people, set the technical direction for Unreal and real-time visualisation and help evolve an already successful capability into increasingly sophisticated interactive, immersive and data-driven experiences.
This is not a role for someone who has moved completely away from the technology, as you will be a leader, but you'll also be the technical authority – someone who understands the challenges first-hand, can challenge established thinking and has the credibility to show others the way forward.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Take ownership of the direction and development of the combined 3D visualisation and real-time capability. Including:
- Leading Unreal Engine development across interactive visualisation, digital twins, VR and immersive experiences
- Bringing visualisation and real-time development teams together around a shared technical direction
- Establishing standards, scalable workflows and reusable frameworks
- Mentoring and developing technical and creative talent
- Driving innovation across Unreal, real-time and emerging technologies
- Providing hands-on technical leadership on complex projects
- Supporting project scoping, estimation, pitches and work-winning
- Becoming a trusted technical voice with clients and stakeholders
The existing team already produces outstanding visual work and has strong development capability. The opportunity is to connect those strengths, raise the sophistication of the technology and build the capability around them.
Therefore, we will require:
- Deep Unreal Engine expertise
- Advanced Blueprint capability, with a strong understanding of Unreal architecture and working C++ knowledge, alongside experience of optimisation, performance and scalable real-time applications.
- Experience across areas such as VR, digital twins, interactive visualisation, BIM/GIS, Cesium, IoT, AR/MR or WebXR would add real value.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
However, we are deliberately open-minded about where that expertise has been developed.
You could come from AEC, architectural visualisation, digital twins, real-time technology or the games industry. As what matters is the combination of:
- Technical depth.
- Leadership.
- Communication.
- Curiosity.
You’ll need the presence to lead an established team, the technical credibility to earn their confidence and the communication skills to explain complex ideas to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
Interestingly, you will not be inheriting a finished Unreal function, you will join at the point where the business has identified where it wants to go and needs the person capable of taking it there.
If you are an Unreal specialist ready to become more than the person building the solution – and want the opportunity to shape the capability around it – we'd like to hear from you.
