Wanted: Head of Sales & Account Management (a.k.a. The Proactive Catalyst)

Location: Gatwick Area HQ (1–2 days a week hybrid, remote/field the rest)
Team Size: 8 enthusiastic Account Managers needing your spark
Industry: B2B Technical Supply / Building Solutions

The Lowdown

On behalf of our client, an industry-leading supplier of technical solutions to the construction and building services sector, we are searching for an exceptional commercial leader. They are fast-paced, quality-obsessed, and ready for their next big evolution.

Right now, our client has a dedicated Account Management team of 8. The catch? They’ve become world-class firefighters. When a client calls, they jump. When an order drops, they process it.

They’re fantastic at reacting, but the business is ready to stop waiting for the phone to ring and start driving the conversation.

We need a bold, strategic, and energetic Head of Sales & Account Management to transform these reactive heroes into a proactive powerhouse. We need someone who is passionate about scaling a business, and an aspiration to give a nod and say, I played a part in that.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Flipping the Switch: Shift the team’s mindset from "How can I help you today?" to "Here’s how we can build your business tomorrow."
  • Rallying the 8: Coach, mentor, and inspire a team of 8 talent-filled individuals. You won't just manage KPIs; you'll build confident, relationship-driven sales warriors.
  • Mastering the Hybrid Groove: Pitch up to our client's Gatwick-area HQ 1–2 days a week for face-to-face whiteboarding, high-fives, and strategic alignment, spending the rest of your time working remotely or out meeting key clients.
  • Building the Playbook: Standardize proactive outreach, account planning, and cross-selling strategies so success is repeatable, not accidental.
  • Walking the Talk: Lead from the front on major accounts, showing the team exactly how consultative selling is done.

Who You Are

  • A Mindset Transformer: You’ve taken reactive account management teams and turned them into proactive growth engines before (and you have the receipts to prove it).
  • Part Coach, Part Strategist: You know when to dive into the pipeline data and when to sit down one-on-one over a coffee to build someone’s confidence.
  • Gatwick-Adjacent: You can comfortably commute to HQ near Gatwick once or twice a week without losing your mind in traffic.
  • Allergic to "We’ve always done it this way": You bring fresh ideas, healthy disruption, and a high-energy approach to B2B sales.
  • The non-negotiable: You must have experience within an aligned industry, with knowledge of how M&E Consultants and sub-contractors' minds tick.
