ABOUT LORUM

The structural conflict at the centre of correspondent banking is not technological. It is economic. Banks earn revenue from their balance sheets: they lend deposits, capture FX spreads, and hold funds as long as it is rational to do so. Clearing, the act of releasing funds quickly and predictably, competes directly with those economics. An institution designed to lend has a structural incentive to hold deposits; an institution designed to clear has an incentive to release them. When one institution does both, clearing loses. The result is unpredictable settlement, trapped capital, and a correspondent network shrinking by design.

WHY LORUM

Lorum was founded on a different premise: clearing as the business, not a byproduct. The model has been operational since 2023 and grew 55x in 2025, with USD clearing now the majority of volumes alongside a growing treasury offering. We have applied for a U.S. national trust bank charter. The people we hire now will build the clearing and treasury infrastructure it unlocks.

THE ROLE

As Head EMEA Account Management, you are not simply managing a set of accounts, you are building the commercial engine that drives growth across Lorum's existing customer base. Initially, you will set the commercial standards, best practice and customer engagement approach for our global Account Management function, acting as the go-to technical and professional authority as the team scales with the business. You will manage a team of account managers, currently across 4 offices. As Lorum continues to grow internationally and the other regions build their local account management teams, you will work with other regions to ensure consistency & adoption of best practices across the company.

You will own the commercial success of our existing customers, ensuring they continue to grow with Lorum through increased product adoption, transaction volumes and long-term strategic partnerships. You will work across Sales, Product, Operations, Compliance and Marketing to ensure our customers receive an exceptional experience while helping shape the evolution of our products and commercial strategy.

Account Management at Lorum is not a traditional customer success function. It is a commercial organisation responsible for driving expansion, influencing product direction through customer insight, and building trusted relationships with regulated financial institutions operating across multiple markets and currencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Performance: Own the commercial performance of Lorum's existing client base. Drive growth in transaction volumes, revenue and product adoption with clear accountability for retention, expansion and portfolio performance.
  • Organisation Building: Build and scale Lorum's Account Management function, establishing the team structure, operating model, customer segmentation, account planning methodology and performance standards required to support international growth. Initially, you will lead the global function before transitioning to ownership of the EMEA organisation as regional teams are established.
  • Expansion & Cross-Sell: Build and manage a measurable pipeline of opportunities across the existing client base. Identify, develop and close cross-sell and upsell opportunities, working with clients to expand into new products, currencies, markets and use cases.
  • Executive Client Relationships: Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers at Lorum's most strategic clients. Act as the senior commercial owner and escalation point for key accounts, ensuring Lorum is positioned as a long-term infrastructure partner rather than a transactional provider.
  • People & Functional Leadership: Guide, mentor and set the bar for the team of Account Managers. Raise the standard of commercial account management, share best practice, and build the capabilities the team needs as it grows.
  • Client Retention & Risk: Own client retention and proactively identify risks to relationships, volumes or revenue. Establish clear customer health indicators and intervention plans to address declining usage, unresolved issues and potential churn before they materially affect the business.
  • Cross-Functional Accountability: Work closely with Sales, Product, Operations, Compliance and Marketing to deliver a joined-up client experience. Ensure client priorities are understood internally, while holding teams accountable for resolving issues and delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Customer Insight: Turn client conversations and portfolio data into actionable insights for the business. Identify recurring product gaps, operational friction and emerging market needs, and influence internal priorities based on their commercial and strategic importance.
  • Performance & Forecasting: Establish clear reporting across revenue, volumes, retention, product adoption, client health and expansion pipeline. Provide senior leadership with an accurate view of portfolio performance, risks and growth opportunities.
