Head of Accounting
Location: London (Hybrid)
Sector: Investor-Backed SaaS Business
Salary: Up to £115k Base + Equity & Benefits
The Opportunity
We are partnering with a high-growth, investor-backed SaaS business seeking a Head of Accounting to join its finance leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of financial control, reporting and compliance within a fast-paced international environment, whilst helping to build scalable processes to support continued growth.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Owning the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Taking responsibility for the general ledger, financial controls and compliance with US GAAP.
- Managing the end-to-end order-to-cash process, ensuring strong operational controls and efficient working capital management.
- Owning revenue recognition across SaaS subscriptions, commercial contracts and bundled product offerings.
- Overseeing inventory accounting, cost tracking, stock reconciliations and related accounting processes.
- Leading external audits, statutory reporting and wider regulatory compliance activities.
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and support key business decisions.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management activities.
- Driving finance systems improvements, automation initiatives and process enhancements.
- Playing a key role in strengthening the finance infrastructure as the business continues to scale.

Candidate Profile
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Strong technical accounting background with experience operating in a Head of Accounting, Financial Controller or similar leadership role.
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP, including revenue recognition principles.
- Proven experience leading audits, controls and compliance processes.
- Experience managing complex order-to-cash environments and revenue accounting processes.
- Exposure to inventory accounting, stock management or hardware-related accounting would be highly advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Experience within a SaaS, technology or investor-backed environment is highly desirable.
- Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system would be beneficial.
