This is Neath Port Talbot - a place of contrast, creativity and community.

Located between Swansea and Cardiff, our county borough combines stunning coastline, valleys and waterfalls with proud industrial heritage, thriving communities and growing economic opportunity. Home to around 142,000 residents, we are ambitious for our future and committed to delivering high quality services that improve lives and strengthen communities.

Following the retirement of our longstanding Head of Adult Services, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of Adult Social Care in Neath Port Talbot.

As a member of the Council's Corporate Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of services, including operational adult social care, prevention and early intervention, mental health, business and performance functions and services with a combined budget of over £120 million.

This is a role for a visible, resilient and values driven leader. Adult Services faces increasing demand and financial pressures and we are looking for someone who can build on strong foundations whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement. You will help create a collaborative, outward looking service that works with a range of stakeholders to deliver the best possible outcomes for adults and carers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
