Job Description

Role/Team Overview

This role leads the platforms and business systems that underpin Sky Media’s advertising business across linear, addressable, Video on Demand and digital advertising. Working across Commercial, Product, Operations, AdTech and Technology, you’ll lead a specialist team of around eight people and help ensure our advertising platforms remain effective, resilient and ready to support future product and commercial ambitions.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide senior platform and AdTech leadership as Sky Media transforms its advertising technology landscape.
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for business-critical advertising platforms, translate new propositions into workable platform capabilities and ensure changes are configured with a clear understanding of upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Own the advertising platform strategy and roadmap across Google Ad Manager, FreeWheel, Landmark and the wider advertising technology estate.
  • Translate commercial and product ambitions into platform capabilities, working across Product, AdTech, Technology, Commercial and Operations.
  • Lead the introduction of new platforms and capabilities while keeping today’s estate resilient and effective.
  • Own senior relationships with technology partners and suppliers, including Google, FreeWheel, Imagine, Clearcast and Mediaocean.
  • Oversee first-line platform support for Sales and Operations, guiding the team through technical, configuration and process issues.
  • Lead and develop the specialist team, strengthening process discipline, platform governance and continuous improvement.

  • Significant leadership experience in advertising technology, media technology or advertising platforms.
  • Deep knowledge and practical experience of Google Ad Manager and the wider Google advertising ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of video advertising and ad-serving technologies, alongside experience owning or managing complex, business-critical platforms.
  • Proven ability to work across commercial, product, operational and technical teams and translate effectively between them.
  • Strong people leadership, with the credibility and judgement to influence at senior leadership level.

Desirable Skills And Experience

  • Experience of FreeWheel, Imagine/Landmark or comparable advertising platforms.
  • Understanding of the wider AdTech ecosystem, including programmatic advertising, SSPs/DSPs, identity, audience targeting, measurement and data.
  • Experience of technology transformation, platform migration or modernisation programmes.
  • Commercial judgement and experience managing major technology vendors and strategic partners.

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectation for this role is three days in the Osterley office per week.
