Head of Amazon & Marketplaces

Patrick Murray and 3Search are working with a high-growth global consumer brand to recruit a Head of Amazon & Marketplaces.

Salary: £80-110k + Bonus

Location & Working Model: Hybrid Working

Key Role Feature: Full ownership of a global Amazon and marketplace business with responsibility for revenue growth, operations and team leadership

Our client is one of Europe's most exciting direct-to-consumer success stories, having built a globally recognised lifestyle brand with millions of customers worldwide and a rapidly expanding international presence. Following a period of exceptional growth, the business is continuing to invest heavily in ecommerce, operations and marketplace expansion, creating a unique opportunity for an experienced Head of Amazon & Marketplaces to lead the next stage of marketplace growth.

This is a highly visible leadership position offering genuine ownership across Amazon and wider marketplaces. The successful Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will be responsible for developing marketplace strategy, driving revenue growth, optimising operational performance and building a scalable function capable of supporting the company's ambitious long-term growth plans.

The Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will combine strategic leadership with hands-on marketplace expertise, ensuring world-class execution across listings, PPC, inventory planning, logistics and account performance whilst identifying new opportunities to expand the business globally.

The Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will:

  • Own and lead the global Amazon and marketplace strategy
  • Drive profitable revenue growth across Amazon and future marketplace channels
  • Lead and develop marketplace specialists as the function continues to scale
  • Identify new marketplace opportunities and expansion initiatives
  • Build scalable processes and operating frameworks that support long-term growth
  • Work closely with leadership teams to align marketplace priorities with wider business objectives

The Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will:

  • Own marketplace revenue, profitability and performance targets
  • Drive growth through listing optimisation, pricing strategy and marketplace expansion
  • Develop forecasting and inventory planning processes across international markets
  • Partner with operations, logistics and manufacturing teams to ensure product availability
  • Identify commercial opportunities through data analysis and market insights
  • Continuously improve marketplace efficiency and operational performance

Amazon Advertising & Marketplace Growth

The role requires:

  • Strategic ownership of Amazon PPC performance and retail media investment
  • Oversight of Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display activity
  • Management of agency and external partner relationships
  • Optimisation of marketplace marketing investment and return on spend
  • Development of growth plans across new and emerging marketplace platforms

Operational Excellence

The Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will:

  • Ensure marketplace account health remains at the highest standard
  • Maintain compliance and operational best practice across all platforms
  • Oversee stock planning, shipment forecasting and inventory management
  • Manage listing quality, content optimisation and Amazon SEO initiatives
  • Develop robust reporting and performance management frameworks

Essential Skills

The successful Head of Amazon & Marketplaces will demonstrate:

  • Significant experience leading Amazon and marketplace operations within a consumer brand environment
  • Strong understanding of Amazon Seller Central (3p), marketplace operations and commercial performance drivers
  • Experience scaling marketplace revenue through strategic and operational improvements
  • Proven ability to lead teams and develop marketplace talent
  • Strong commercial and analytical capabilities with a data-led approach to decision making
  • Experience managing marketplace agencies and holding partners accountable to performance targets
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
