Head of Analytics - Consumer Finance
Location: London (Hybrid)
About the Opportunity
Our client is an established UK consumer finance lender offering loans to customers that mainstream lenders often underserve. The business is growing and has a clear focus on fair, transparent lending. It is investing heavily in data, automation and AI as core parts of its strategy. They are looking for a Head of Analytics to lead and develop their centralised Analytics function, driving efficiencies with AI adoption and providing strategic insight to the Board and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a centralised Analytics & MI team supporting Finance, Marketing and the executive team
- Provide clear, actionable insight to the Board and senior committees, making sure analytical output is aligned to business objectives
- Drive the automation of key Committee and business reporting, and improve data structures across the organisation (Snowflake and Power BI)
- Oversee the Decision Engine programme through a Decision Engine Manager, ensuring changes are auditable and deployed safely
- Identify and adopt AI and automation opportunities to improve the efficiency and impact of the analytics function
- Prioritise and manage the workload across multiple stakeholders
- “Hands-on” technically whilst leading and coaching the team, setting the standard for best practice
- Build a culture of accountability and develop the team's storytelling and stakeholder influencing skills

Candidate Profile: Skills & Experience
- Background in Consumer Finance with proven experience leading an Analytics function (e.g. Credit Risk, Analytics, Insight etc.)
- Track record of driving change at pace in a fast-moving, commercially focused business
- Experience engaging at Board level and presenting complex analysis as clear strategic insight to technical and non-technical audiences
- A positive, forward-looking approach to AI and its use in analytics and decision-making
- Strong hands-on coding skills in SQL or Python
- Experience automating reporting and putting robust process and change control in place
- Calm under pressure, with strong written communication and sound prioritisation
- Degree in a quantitative or business discipline, or equivalent experience
