The Role: Head of Analytics Engineering
This is a senior technical IC role. You’ll architect, build, and maintain the core dbt modelling layer, the backbone feeding intelligence to Finance, Product, and Markets. Your domain? Reporting to the Head of Data, you’ll collaborate deeply with COO, Engineering, Finance, Treasury, and Markets, shaping data engineering’s trajectory across unfamiliar remittance landscapes. Based in London, Dubai, or NYC.
Key Responsibilities
- dbt Leadership: Drive transformation of our data stack—design performant, production-grade dbt models, enforce quality with antibacterial tests/documentation frameworks, and scale their delivery.
- Self-Service Data: Instill a culture of ownership through clear documentation and responsible data publication so teams can answer their own questions without relying on engineering request-time residencies.
- Forward Thinks: Build diagnostic dashboards/alerts detecting issues before they become incidents, position teams to mitigate risk.
- AI Power: Navigate the data stack using AI agents and tools at every stage of development—from dbt model design to runtime diagnostics—and democratise their use within teams.
- Domain Deep Dives: Own special-projects requiring integration across risk, fraud or payment settlement systems, leveraging our first-party data markets expertise.
- Champion of all Data: Join weekly hustle blocks; mentorship and feedback through code diving and peer review; set and track enterprise-wide quality benchmarks.

Required
✅ 7+ years in a data role (concentration in Analytics Eng or Data Science needed). ✅ Stake examination from scripting: SQL expertise required. ✅ CAP on complex dbt and understandings of scaling large datasets. ✅ Cloud fluency (AWS/GCP/Azure), mastering modern warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). ✅ Alumni of modern BI tools ballroom (Looker, Mode), data democratisation strategy expert. ✅ Python or R experience in datalab. ✅ Analytical deadth, meticulousness; talkieness about "no task too small" or unsung QA tasks.
