About Smart Bricks
Smart Bricks is building the intelligence layer for real assets. We're creating an AI-native platform that helps investors, developers, governments, and Fortune 500 companies make better decisions across the lifecycle of physical assets—from sourcing and underwriting to due diligence, asset management, and portfolio strategy.
Rather than building generic AI tools, we partner directly with leading institutions to solve their hardest operational problems, turning every customer engagement into reusable product that compounds across the platform. We're backed by leading global investors and are now building the next generation of our institutional AI platform.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Head of AI Lab to build and lead our Applied AI organisation from the ground up.
This is not a Professional Services role.
This is not a Consulting role.
This is not a traditional Product role.
You'll create the operating system that transforms customer problems into scalable AI products. You'll work directly with some of the world's largest owners, operators, investors, and governments, deploying AI into mission-critical workflows while building the repeatable capabilities that define the future of Smart Bricks. You'll build the team, define the methodology, and establish the culture for what we believe will become one of the world's leading AI Labs focused on physical assets.
What You'll Do:
Build the AI Lab
- Design and scale Smart Bricks' Applied AI organisation.
- Recruit and develop Forward Deployed Engineers, AI Engineers, and Solutions Architects.
- Establish operating principles, delivery methodology, and quality standards.
- Create a high-performance culture centred on customer outcomes and rapid execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
