The role

As Head of Asset Management Lifecycle Delivery, you’ll act as the senior technical authority for lifecycle asset management, leading the development of engineering assurance, reliability, maintainability and asset integrity frameworks across the business. You'll define the standards, methodologies and governance that enable safe, effective and sustainable asset performance while balancing cost, risk and operational requirements.

Day-to-day, you’ll have an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced engineering or asset management professional who wants to influence executive decision-making, drive industry best practice and support the delivery of major programmes within one of the UK's leading defence, aerospace and engineering organisations. You'll lead specialist teams, shape future capability and help create lasting value across the business.

  • Defining enterprise lifecycle management frameworks, standards and methodologies that support long-term asset performance.
  • Leading engineering governance, technical assurance and compliance activities across asset portfolios.
  • Driving reliability, maintainability and asset integrity programmes to improve operational performance and resilience.
  • Advising executive leadership on engineering risks, lifecycle decisions and asset investment strategies.
  • Leading specialist engineering and asset management teams while promoting innovation and industry best practice.

This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 – 3 days onsite at one of Babcock’s key locations: Babcock Technology Centre, Devonport Royal Dockyard or HM Naval Base Clyde, Near Helensburgh Argyll and Bute site. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to travel regularly to the other sites to support collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery across the business.


Essential experience of the Head of Asset Management Lifecycle Delivery

  • Extensive leadership experience within engineering and asset management environments.
  • Significant experience in lifecycle planning, asset lifecycle management and engineering assurance.
  • Proven experience developing reliability, maintainability and maintenance strategies.
  • Experience operating within asset-intensive and highly regulated industries.
  • Strong capability to influence stakeholders and provide technical leadership across complex organisations.

Qualifications for the Head of Asset Management Lifecycle Delivery

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Finance, Risk Management or a related discipline, or demonstrable relevant experience.

Desirable

  • Chartered professional registration.
  • IAM Diploma or equivalent qualification.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
