About the Role
This is a high-profile, senior role at the heart of one of Europe's largest single-market asset fleets — supporting hundreds of thousands of customers, with a risk fleet of almost one million assets.
Responsibilities
This is a senior leadership role responsible for monitoring and forecasting the value of a large, varied asset portfolio — where future residual values are being shaped by technology change, shifting supply and manufacturer behaviour, evolving customer demand, and wider economic conditions.
- Own the central forecasting strategy across a 5-year+ horizon: setting a credible central case, sizing alternative scenarios, leading quarterly reviews and portfolio revaluations, and turning complex, uncertain evidence into decisions that protect both customer affordability and financial resilience.
- Be backed by dedicated teams of data analysts and modellers, and bring the applied economics, scenario judgement and commercial framing that turn their output into a defensible forecast and a clear recommendation for senior stakeholders and auditors.
- Report into the C-Suite, sit on the Asset Risk Strategic Leadership Team, lead a team of specialists, and help embed a new cross-functional operating model.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Person
- Experienced in forecasting or valuing large, varied asset portfolios over a multi-year horizon, in a sector where values are exposed to broad political, economic, social, technological or regulatory shifts (e.g. leasing, insurance, real assets, commodities, or similar)
- A background in applied economics or quantitative forecasting — comfortable defining a central case and sizing uncertainty around it, rather than doing the modelling yourself
- Proven experience owning forecasts/valuations with real commercial, balance-sheet or P&L consequences
- Confidence directing and getting the best from specialist data and modelling teams you don't directly manage
- A track record translating complex, sometimes uncertain evidence into clear, senior-stakeholder-ready recommendations
