Head of Automation – FinTech / FX
We are partnering with a growing financial technology business to hire a Head of Automation who will take ownership of the organisation’s quality and test automation strategy.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with a strong background in FinTech, FX or capital markets technology who can build and scale a modern automation function, drive a quality-first engineering culture and ensure QA is embedded throughout the development lifecycle.
The Role
- Own and develop the company-wide QA and automation strategy
- Build and evolve scalable test automation frameworks
- Champion a quality-first culture across Product and Engineering
- Embed automated testing throughout Agile development and CI/CD pipelines
- Translate complex trading and financial products into effective testing strategies
- Design testing approaches that account for real-world FX/trading workflows and edge cases
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing team of Automation Engineers
- Evaluate and introduce modern testing tools, including AI-driven approaches to QA
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Support and Business stakeholders

What We're Looking For
- 7+ years' experience within automation testing / quality engineering
- Proven experience leading QA or Automation teams
- Strong background within FinTech, FX, electronic trading or capital markets
- Deep understanding of trading technology, market mechanics and financial software
- Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks from scratch
- Strong understanding of modern software development and continuous delivery practices
- Extensive experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business teams
