About the Client

Our client is a growing payment gateway and card processing provider serving merchants globally. They specialize in card acquiring, global payment acceptance, and building customized payment solutions. Their in-house built gateway supports flexible settlements, comprehensive reporting, and a variety of regional payment methods.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Banking & Payments to lead the development of pioneering banking products and operational infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to design end-to-end payment workflows, introducing scalable and automated solutions. You will have the chance to collaborate with diverse teams, bridging the gap between business functions and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop the company’s banking product and operational infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Design end-to-end banking and payment workflows, replacing manual processes with scalable and automated solutions.
  • Define requirements for the back-office and coordinate their implementation with the development team.
  • Act as a bridge between business functions and technology, translating requirements from Compliance, Finance, Treasury, and Operations into technical requirements.
  • Establish payment routing logic based on various operational factors.
  • Design and implement payment control points together with Compliance and AML teams.
  • Analyse existing payment flows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimise routing.
  • Build processes for working with banking partners, including bank onboarding.
  • Develop operational procedures, workflows, and controls around banking and payments.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects related to banking and technology.
  • Support internal teams in using the new banking processes and infrastructure.
  • Continuously identify and improve operational gaps as the business scales.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in banking, payments, EMI, PSP, BaaS, or fintech.
  • Proven experience building or improving banking or payment products and processes.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end payment lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of banking infrastructure and payment rails.
  • Strong understanding of payment compliance and operational risk.
  • Experience translating business and operational requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience working closely with development teams and external technology providers.
  • Strong understanding of banking back-office processes and automation design.
  • Languages: English, Russian.
  • Experience in fintech.
