Head of Brand

Own the world of Exhale, in real life

Are you a brand builder who realises the best brands don't just run campaigns. They build worlds: festivals, clubs, popups, partnerships, ambassador programs and unforgettable real-life moments that make people feel they belong to something; and that everything else (the ads, the content, the emails) draws its meaning from.

The Head of Brand will own that world. We've already built or planned real assets most brands would kill for. Two annual festivals, a print magazine, a podcast, a club community programme, cafe popups, ambassador program, a van to go on tour, and partnerships with our favourite brands. What we need now is one person to own all of it; the strategy, the world, the meaning.

At Exhale we’re on a mission to inspire an active, outdoors and healthy lifestyle; which is all made better when fuelled by our ridiculously healthy coffee. Launched in 2020, we're already one of the biggest D2C coffee brands in the UK, with 100,000 subscribers. We’re shaping Exhale as a cross between Patagonia and Red Bull, for the healthy generation, and you will be a core part of bringing that to life!

Important: this is not a design role, and it is not a corporate brand manager job. Think of it closer to the field-marketing and community leadership of a great outdoor or active brand. You'll be building community, experiences and partnerships, and guarding what the brand means.

The successful applicant must be a natural community builder, storyteller and project manager, with incredible people skills, brilliantly organised, and completely at home in the outdoors, active and wellness world we serve.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the brand world. The community, festivals, magazine, ambassadors, podcast, all aspects mentioned above and bring your own ideas too. You'll own them, grow them, and make them unmistakably Exhale.
  • Fire up brand partnerships and collaborations. Build more top-tier collaborations with aligned brands and get creative about their shape: shared products, shared events, shared content, more than just giveaways!
  • Own how Exhale shows up at other people's events. Set the strategy for which third-party events and festivals we attend and design how we show up. The craft is a presence that is the brand, not a stand that displays it.
  • Guard the voice and the meaning. Positioning, tone and brand values, working closely with our CMO, so that everything from a festival to a single reel draws on the same spine.
  • Create the stories that fuel the rest of the marketing engine. You'll be a constant source of stories and material to be used across all of our marketing channels.
  • Build the internal team. You'll shape and grow a team around you.

About you

  • You've personally built community, experiences and brand worlds before, and you can show the results: events produced end to end, communities grown, partnerships made real.
  • A brand or community background (community, events, experiential, partnerships) that realises the future is built in the real world.
  • You think in belonging and meaning, and you can talk in depth about why a swim club can be worth more than a campaign.
  • A natural relationship builder: partner brands, venues and event organisers want to work with you, and you close deals that are creative rather than transactional.
  • Confident, you love nothing more than jumping on the phone with a potential partner brand to brainstorm a collaboration and get them excited about building it with us.
  • Brilliantly organised and hands-on: comfortable producing real-world events end to end, from a sauna by a river to a festival stage.
  • Taste. A strong instinct for voice: understated, authentic, outdoors, never hype.
  • You live this world: swimming, running, hiking, cold water, mountains, or simply a deep love of the outdoors and healthy living.
  • Obsessed with learning from the best community-led brands to keep your finger on the pulse of what's working right now.
  • Comfortable being the first in the door of a new team: senior enough to lead, hungry enough to do.
