Head of Brand Marketing

Location: London HQ, Marylebone

Job Type: Full Time (on-site)

Compensation: £60,000 – £70,000 (DOE) + Commission

Our mission is to reignite the spark in retail through innovation and experience — and we're looking for a bold, creative, and strategic Head of Brand Marketing to own our identity, lead campaigns, and position Smartech / tm:rw as the go-to innovation brand.

The Role

You'll lead all brand and marketing initiatives — building awareness, community, and cultural relevance for tm:rw. This is a senior marketing position in the company, reporting directly to the founders and leadership team.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

Brand Strategy & Leadership

  • Position Smartech as the leading authority on discovering and shaping what's next in innovation
  • Develop long-term brand positioning, initiatives, and creative strategies that drive awareness, affinity, and growth
  • Deliver out-of-the-box activations and strategic partnerships that capture attention and spark conversation
  • Drive a holistic growth strategy that strengthens both brand equity and commercial success
  • Strategically position tm:rw as a destination brand in New York City and the Tri-State area, building visibility and recognition with consumers, tourism partners, and local governing bodies, while developing and executing a comprehensive marketing plan to expand brand awareness and reach audiences throughout New York State

Campaigns & Activations

  • Lead integrated brand campaigns across digital, PR, social, events, and in-store channels
  • Drive high-impact collaborations with global brands, innovators, and influencers
  • Champion social-first storytelling on emerging platforms, including direct-to-consumer strategies like TikTok Shop
  • Oversee in-store branding and experiential marketing, from visual merchandising and greeter programs to entertainment and interactive activations
  • Develop and manage a promotional calendar featuring giveaways, gift boxes, in-store experiences, and partnership activations to enhance engagement and retention
  • Collaborate with operations to create and maintain a dynamic, high-performing website, focused on user experience, storytelling, and traffic generation

Community & Partnerships

  • Build partnerships with hotels, concierge services, colleges, universities, city officials, and Tri-State retail and e-commerce partners to drive foot traffic and awareness
  • Balance grassroots marketing with long-term brand development, capable of building authentic community connections while executing large-scale campaigns

Team & Growth

  • Inspire, mentor, and build the marketing team to deliver world-class results (with agency support)
  • Partner with leadership and operations to ensure the brand is embedded in every customer experience
  • Foster cross-functional alignment across PR, partnerships, and influencer relations initiatives (in collaboration with agencies)
  • Set clear KPIs and track campaign impact, leveraging insights to refine strategy and optimise ROI
  • Report directly to the founders, influencing the company's overall growth and vision

About You

You're not just a Marketer, you're a brand builder. You've taken a concept from 0→10, built community, and driven growth through creativity and strategic vision.

You have:

  • 10+ years in brand/marketing leadership, ideally in tech, retail, or consumer brands
  • Proven experience working within the technology sector, with a strong track record across both brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce environments from the ground up
  • Creative instincts with the ability to provide clear, actionable direction to creative teams for execution
  • Ability to execute integrated campaigns that drive engagement and sales
  • Experience across retail, driving e-commerce sales, and experiential marketing
  • A strong balance of grassroots marketing and brand strategy — connecting authentically with communities while delivering large-scale impact
  • A creative, bold, and innovative mindset — unafraid to challenge conventions and push the limits of what's possible in brand storytelling and consumer experience
