📍 London (Hybrid – 2 days in office, 3 days remote/WFH or office if you prefer!)

Two in five people in the UK rent their homes. At Goodlord, our mission is to be the gold standard platform for renting - simplifying complexity across agents, landlords and tenants.

We’re looking for a hands-on Head of Brand to own how Goodlord shows up in the world - from our brand and content to PR, corporate affairs and thought leadership.

This is a role for someone who brings together brand ownership and PR/communications. You’ll have experience owning and shaping a B2B brand - its positioning, messaging, identity and how it shows up in market - alongside strong, hands-on PR and media experience.

You’ll have built that experience within B2B technology/SaaS, or in a PR and communications agency working with B2B technology clients. That combination is important: we need someone who is as comfortable thinking about our brand and positioning as they are shaping a story, working with journalists and building our reputation.

Reporting directly to our Marketing Director, you’ll lead a team of four across content, SEO and design, manage our external PR agency and work closely with colleagues across Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales and the wider business.

You’ll help make Goodlord a distinctive and trusted voice in the industry, turning complex topics - from regulation and policy to AI and technology - into stories people actually want to read, hear and talk about.

If you like autonomy, pace and variety - and you’re comfortable being the person who both shapes what great looks like and helps make it happen - this could be a great fit!

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning our brand - shaping and evolving Goodlord’s positioning, messaging, identity and voice, and making sure we show up consistently and distinctively
  • Leading PR, media and corporate affairs - owning our day-to-day PR and media activity, building relationships with journalists, spotting and shaping stories, managing our external PR agency and leading our approach to regulatory, policy and reputation-related communications
  • Shaping our stories - turning complex industry, regulatory and technology topics into compelling narratives and thought leadership, working with senior leaders where needed
  • Leading content and SEO - setting the direction for our content and SEO specialists, helping them create useful, engaging work that supports our brand and wider business priorities
  • Leading creative and design - setting clear direction for our in-house designers and making sure everything we put into the world feels unmistakably Goodlord
  • Connecting brand to the business - partnering with Demand Generation, Product Marketing and Sales to make sure brand, PR and content support our wider commercial goals

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

You’ll be well suited to this role if you:

  • Have strong commercial experience across brand and PR/communications, gained within B2B technology/SaaS or a PR and communications agency working with B2B technology clients, or a mix of both!
  • Have owned and shaped a brand - its positioning, messaging, identity and how it shows up in market - rather than solely delivering brand campaigns or driving brand awareness
  • Have strong, hands-on PR and media experience, with a track record of building journalist relationships, shaping stories and delivering earned coverage
  • Are a strong storyteller with sound strategic judgement, able to zoom out to brand strategy and zoom in to a single headline
  • Have experience across corporate affairs, reputation management and thought leadership, including working with senior leaders on external communications
  • Have experience directly leading and developing individual contributors, with the judgement to set direction across content, SEO and creative
  • Are commercially minded, collaborative and enjoy having ownership while staying close to the work

This role is about owning delivery, not building a large function. If you’re looking for a purely strategic communications role with a sizeable team underneath you, this probably isn’t the right fit. If you enjoy being close to the work and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you!
