About The Role
Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for technical education and industry excellence? Join us as a Head of Department for Building Services and Engineering.
EKC Group are seeking a Head of Building Services and Engineering to join the Group at Ashford College. As a Head of this department, you will be responsible for managing courses and staff across Plumbing, Electrical and Engineering. You will lead and develop a high-performing curriculum area, driving outstanding learner outcomes, employer engagement, and innovation, promoting high standards in a positive and supportive culture.
In the role of Head of Department your role responsibilities will include being responsible for the quality of programme provision and to actively encourage excellence in teaching and to effectively manage a delegated budget.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future workforce by delivering a curriculum that equips students with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving sector.

- Salary: £53,078 per annum
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours per week: 37

Up to date industry knowledge and a good understanding of current industry practices are essential requirements for this role. So too is a commitment to excellence, a focus on delivery and strategic understanding.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree level qualification and a recognised teaching qualification (DET/PGCE/CertEd). With demonstrable teaching practice at good or outstanding level, you will also have experience of curriculum planning and development and a proven ability to manage and lead an experienced, professional team to deliver results.
