Head of Building Surveying

Location: Manchester / Hybrid

Salary: Competitive Salary + Bonus + Pension + Benefits

The Opportunity

An established multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to appoint a Head of Building Surveying to lead and develop its Building Surveying offering in Manchester and across the Northwest.

The business has ambitious plans to grow its UK operations and is looking for someone who wants to take ownership of a Building Surveying function and build a team around them.

There is already a large volume of residential work in the pipeline, including programmes of Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCAs) and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys, giving the successful candidate an immediate workload to build from.

The Role

As Head of Building Surveying, you will take responsibility for developing the Manchester offering, combining technical oversight, client management, and business development.

You will have considerable autonomy over how the team develops, with the opportunity to recruit Building Surveyors as workload increases. You will also work closely with the wider UK leadership team and other divisions of the consultancy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
