Hull College is looking for a dynamic Head of Building Technologies to lead our Plumbing, Construction and Brickwork provision and drive forward a culture of excellence, innovation and industry relevance.

The Role: What You’ll Be Leading
As Head of Building Technologies, you will:
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, development and support for all staff within the department
- Shape and manage the curriculum offer, in collaboration with the Assistant Principal and other Institute Heads
- Ensure effective planning, resourcing and timetabling of all courses
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment—supporting staff through coaching and performance reviews
- Maintain and enhance the accuracy of curriculum information, data and reporting
- Contribute to curriculum marketing, events and employer engagement
- Deliver an average of 3 hours of high‑quality teaching per week
- Represent the College at internal and external meetings, including occasional evenings/weekends
- Oversee departmental budgets and ensure effective financial management
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and student success

What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- A relevant teaching qualification and subject specialism
- Significant experience delivering excellent teaching and leading within Further Education
- Experience of leading cross‑departmental themes—student engagement, progress, assessment and IQA
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong data analysis skills to inform improvement
- Outstanding organisational and planning abilities
- A genuine commitment to professional development and collaborative leadership
