Company Description

North Star Children’s Homes is dedicated to transforming the lives of children in care by providing safe, stable, and nurturing home environments that support their physical, emotional, and educational development. The organization offers comprehensive support services and actively involves children in decision-making, while promoting collaboration across sectors to achieve positive outcomes. Its business plan addresses the crisis in children’s social care in the UK by responding to a large unmet need. Inspired by Scandinavian models, North Star Children’s Homes focuses on networks of small, therapeutic, trauma-informed, and educationally thoughtful homes. Through this family-modeled approach, the organization aims to help children heal from trauma, break cycles of intergenerational care, and build fulfilling futures while reducing long-term societal costs. We currently have eight homes, with plans for more homes in 2027.

Role Description

The Head of Business Administration and Finance is a full-time, mostly remote role responsible for overseeing the organization’s business operations and financial strategy. This role includes invoicing, managing budgeting, financial planning including forecasting, reporting, and cash flow. The individual will lead business administration functions such as process improvement, resource allocation, and performance monitoring, and will support senior leadership in strategic decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
