Head of Business Change

Remote / FTC

Circa £70-75k

We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Change & Portfolio Delivery to lead an organisation-wide portfolio of strategic transformation and change within a complex, highly regulated and service-led environment.

Working closely with the CIO and senior leadership team, you will ensure transformation investment is strategically aligned, effectively prioritised, appropriately governed and successfully delivered.

The role will provide leadership across portfolio management, business change, programme governance, business analysis, business partnering, mobilisation and integration, and solution architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape the organisation-wide transformation and change portfolio.
  • Establish effective portfolio governance, prioritisation, assurance and reporting.
  • Provide senior leaders with clear insight into delivery, investment, resources, risks, dependencies and benefits.
  • Challenge and recommend the re-prioritisation, re-scoping, pausing or stopping of initiatives where appropriate.
  • Oversee major transformation programmes and technology-enabled change.
  • Lead organisational change, adoption and operational readiness.
  • Ensure regulatory, compliance, risk and business-continuity requirements are embedded within transformation activity.
  • Strengthen benefits realisation and ensure investment delivers measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee the mobilisation and integration of new services and capabilities.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary business change and portfolio function.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to the CIO and senior leadership team.

About You

You will be an established transformation, portfolio or business change leader with experience operating at senior level within a complex and highly regulated organisation.

You will bring strong experience in portfolio management, transformation delivery, governance, organisational change and executive stakeholder management.

You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, challenging senior stakeholders and making evidence-based recommendations about where the organisation should invest its resources and transformation capacity.

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering significant business and technology-enabled change in environments where service quality, operational continuity, governance and risk management are critical will be highly advantageous.
