Head of Business Development - Supported Living

Generous salary with an industry leading bonus structure | Essex | Hybrid

Are you a commercially minded senior leader with a strong track record in business development, strategic partnerships and growth across adult health and social care?

We are working with a specialist provider of supported living, residential and community support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and complex care needs. The organisation is growing, well regarded by commissioners and clear about the difference it wants to make.

What you will be doing

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, you will own the growth and partnerships agenda. That means identifying sustainable opportunities to expand services, developing innovative models of support and building the lasting relationships that make new provision possible.

  • Develop and deliver the growth and partnerships strategy
  • Identify sustainable opportunities across supported living, residential and specialist community services
  • Build trusted relationships with local authorities, Integrated Care Boards, NHS organisations, commissioners and housing providers
  • Spot gaps in local provision and shape services that respond to genuine community need
  • Maintain a strong development pipeline with disciplined CRM tracking and reporting
  • Lead high quality tenders, proposals, presentations and business cases
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with commissioners and strategic partners
  • Explore new geographical markets, housing developments, joint ventures and partnerships
  • Work with operational teams to mobilise new services and contracts successfully
  • Monitor commissioning priorities and market trends to inform strategic decision making

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience in learning disabilities, autism, mental health, complex care, supported living, residential care, housing partnerships or service mobilisation would be a distinct advantage.

The Role

You will have genuine influence over strategy rather than inheriting someone else's plan. You will build the partnerships that open up exceptional support to more people with complex needs, and you will develop new services and housing solutions where provision is currently thin. Quality and outcomes sit at the centre of every opportunity here rather than being treated as an afterthought.

If this sounds like you we would love to hear from you.
